Incontinence is often times thought of as a woman's issue and the fact is, women experience it more than men simply because women are the ones who go through childbirth. Doesn't seem fair does it? However that's the way it is. Pregnancy and giving birth can wreck havoc on the lower pelvic floor and as a result, women are at a higher risk of becoming incontinent. In the past there were typically two choices when it came to protection for incontinence, pads and pants. The pads are still around and they've seen advances in their absorbency capabilities, and they are still a great solution if you have light or sporadic episodes of incontinence but they are generally less comfortable than the pants. In the past however, the pants more resembled diapers than they did underwear and were bulky and likely to be visible under clothing.

Those days are gone. On top of that, women now have a choice in style. Washable incontinence pants are probably the most comfortable of the options to wear. However if you do any overnight traveling, you may find that disposable incontinence pants may be the better choice. These pants are typically a more expensive route to go but give you the ability to make a quick change and simply dispose of the pants in any trash container.

Incontinence underwear for women have come a long way and there is no need to think of them as anything else than your underwear of choice.
