The only reason we have been going to the movies at all lately is the 3-D. We do not enjoy the cost, or the loud people with their cell phones bothering us. When my husband's back injury got so bad that we are really not able to go to the movies at all, it became time to upgrade. We bought these glasses along with a 60 inch LG 3D TV and a new LG Blu-Ray player and we got it all set up, it was very fast and easy to set up, and headed down to get a couple of 3D movies.

The glasses hook up to a USB port for charging. Since we purchased 3 pairs, we had them plugged in all over the house, and were very glad when our 11 year old noticed that when we shut off the TV or DVD player (we were using their USB ports) that the glasses stopped charging. We turned the products back on, and things continued to charge. It took less than 2 hours.

The glasses are lightweight but do not feel clunky. At first my eyes felt a little strained, but that went away within a few minutes. I did not experience a headache.

The glasses did lose sync probably 5 or 6 times during Alice in Wonderland and 2 times during Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (watched one each night to make sure we were not straining our eyes.) Luckily the red light flashes and you press the button and you sync right back up. Funny enough, my daughter and I seemed to lose sync at the same time while my husband lost his at different times.

The 3D was, honestly, AMAZING!!!! We enjoy both the old time 3D tricks where things poke out at you and the newer 3D effects where it brings depth to the whole film. I loved it. I cannot say enough how much we loved this experience!!!

Oh, and one other note, the nose piece flips up for people with glasses. For the first movie both my husband and I were trying to get them glasses on more comfortably, but once we read the little insert from our TV and saw that we could flip the nosepiece up, they fit just perfectly!

With my brand new LG 60PZ550 3D Plasma, I first ordered the wrong model LG Active Shutter glasses and spent the better part of a frustrating night troubleshooting them. Next morning and a quick and efficient LG web support chat with Ramero, he tells me that I need these new RF glasses. (The older models work on IR). So, back to the Amazon web store to spend more money (of course these new glasses are more expensive). I got them today, charged them while we ate dinner. Three hours later the light was green… popped in a new IMAX 3D video in the new Panasonic 3D Blue Ray DVD player, and…

W O W ! ! !

My wife was originally not happy that I purchased a 3D TV and spent the extra money on the glasses. Now she will not give them back to me. She just told me to order more. Tonight though, I have to wait until she goes to bed early to get my turn with them. Too bad Amazon does not have "next hour" shipping =(

The picture and experience is better than the big movie screen in my opinion. The 3D effect is consistent edge to edge. I can tilt my head. I can view it from and angle. IT'S ALL GOOD!

Also, no talking during the show… no annoying popcorn crunching… no soda slurping… now I don't need to bother anyone else doing these things while watching the movie in the privacy of my own home!

I feel sorry for the movie theaters and sports teams as more 3D titles and channels are made available. Who will want to leave their family room?

I thought it would be a gimmicky fad. I also worried that I was buying first generation technology.

Frankly, I can't see how it can get any better unless I am physically transported into the ocean to swim with all the little brightly florescent fish darting around the pastel corals.

Save your money and get some of this, now!

Couple minor quips about the glasses. You need fingernails to open the tiny charge connection cover on the glasses frame. The cable connector is tiny and looks easy to damage.

Very irritating loss of sync, August 1, 2011

I have 3 of these glasses in use on a PZ250 plasma (thats a mirror on the wall, but thats another story) and all have the same problem: they shut off every 10 minutes while watching a movie, unless you run around the room. Just moving your head to take a drink is not enough for the sensors to register that as movement. Very, VERY frustrating. LG Netherlands denies the problem actually saying they've never heard of this. Probably they never heard of Google either.
On the bright site: as long as the glasses keep working the 3D image is fantastic, truth be told!
